Competition results | Netherlands 1-2 England |
A thrilling match between the Netherlands and England ended with the Three Lions winning 2-1. It must be said that Southgate’s team came out really well today, even though they conceded a goal in the first 7 minutes from a beautiful long-range goal by Xavi Simons. But a few minutes later, England were awarded a penalty when Denzel Dumfries tried to block Harry Kane’s shot but was a little too late, before being booked and Harry Kane scored the equalizer to make it 1-1.
In the remaining 70 minutes, the Oranje and the Three Lions fought evenly. Both teams had several chances to score before England came out on top in the final minute of the game from a sharp shot by Ollie Watkins, knocking out the Netherlands and sending England to the final of the European Championship for the second time in a row.
England national team player ratings
Jordan Pickford – 6.5/10
No ugly mistakes to be made and Virgil van Dijk’s superb save saved England from another goalless draw.
Kieran Trippier – 6.0/10
Played as a left wing-back as usual, but wasn’t particularly impressive.
Kyle Walker – 6.5/10
Still solid and strong in defence, he came up with a crucial interception for the Netherlands.
John Stones – 6.5/10
Acted as the main attacking player from the back. Today he had a good cross, hitting the target 4 times from 7 attempts. The defense was also not without problems.
Mark Guehi – 6.5/10
Returned to the pitch after being suspended for the last game. Overall, he played well in the back three and even blocked two shots.
Declan Rice – 7/10
Despite missing the tackle that led to the first goal, Rice was England’s most involved player on the day, making 106 touches (the most of the ยูฟ่าเบท game) and providing some good clearances elsewhere.
Cobbie Mainoo – 7/10
Today may not have been as prominent in the offensive game, but in the defensive game he helped Rice break up the game and win the ball back well. Should be a regular starter for a long time.
Jude Bellingham – 6.5/10
Had a relatively small impact on the game, although he did draw three fouls for the team, he didn’t have as many crucial moments as in other games.
Phil Foden – 7/10 He
really stepped up his game today, running all over the pitch to support his teammates and even had 3 chances to shoot himself (2 on target) but hit the crossbar once. His passing stats are also impressive, with all 40 passes he made to his teammates being 100% on target.
Bukayo Saka – 7/10
Once he found his form he was able to disrupt the opposition’s defence. Although he received the ball rarely on the right flank, he used his opportunities to break through the opposition’s defence well.
Harry Kane – 7/10
Harry Kane played his best game at Euro 2024. In addition to winning penalties, his goal-scoring ability was impeccable, and he had two chances (all on target) and picked himself up well to link up with the game today.
Substitute

Came on to play as a left wing-back in place of Trippier and improved. He came up to cross the ball 3 times, helping England’s left wing game flow better.

He’s like England’s mascot, every time he’s come on the team wins. He only had six touches of the ball today, but did provide one assist from a through ball to Ollie Watkins.
Ollie Watkins (on for Harry Kane 81′) – 7/10
Proved the world that his 27 goals in the last season weren’t a matter of luck, using just one chance to smash the ball into the top corner as England reached the final as the team’s hero.
